Lockheed Martin High School Space Day in King of Prussia, PA
My high school's Aerospace Engineering class was invited by Lockheed Martin to go to their space day event! When our teacher told us about it we were all super excited to go as we were just talking about some of the fighter jets Lockheed makes in our prior periods. Once the day came I drove down to Lockheed on my own while most of my other classmates took a van with our teacher. Once we got in we were all given lanyards with our names of them and then we all went down to the

Strange new worlds: Princeton University Exoplanet talk & meeting Professor Josh Winn
Joshua Winn (Left) After my AI course in the summer in which a team I was in created our own AI model that detects exoplanets. Exoplanets are any planet that are not in our solar system and is orbiting another star. The AI class sparked my interest in exoplanets and I wanted to learn more about the techniques that are used to find them. So my family and I went to a talk given by Professor Josh Winn at Princeton before the annual Princeton-Harvard football game. He is the

3D Printing a 4ft tall Starship Rocket
Ship (left) and Booster (right) One of the things I've been working on in my free time is a 3D 1:100 scale model of SpaceX's Starship (almost 4 ft tall). I found the design on thingaverse and thought it would be cool to print my own. Printing all of the pieces took a little over the month, as some of the parts took over a day to print. On top of that my 3D printer broke twice while in between prints, and a few of that prints failed due too a clogged extruder, and the part be

Summer AI Machine Learning Course & Exoplanets Project
For two weeks of the summer I was doing a virtual AI summer course from Inspirit AI where I learned how AI models work and I along with a couple others made our own model that detects exoplanets. If you don't know what exoplanets are, they are any plan et that is outside of our solar system and orbits a star. Exoplanet detection project & training data During the first week of the course, we learned how AI models worked and how to train them in Python. To do this we use know

Designing & prototyping my own Thrust Vector Control (TVC) System Mount
My inspiration - Joe Barnard Joe Barnard Every since I became interested to aerospace/rockets, I have watched videos from Joe Barnard on YouTube who runs BPS.Space . For about 8 years, his goal was to propulsively land a model rocket and in 2021 he successfully did it for the first time! Joe was able to do this by using thrust vector control to control the rocket down to land. His goal now to get to space using a rocket completely built by himself. Designing my own Thrust V

Making a 3ft model rocket made from scratch
Since I still had the supplies for the original science fair model rocket I was going to build from scratch, I decided to go ahead and make it. However I decided for fun that I would add on another body tube which gave the rocket its extra height. In order to secure both tubes together I used a coupler, then added 4 screws on both the top and bottom section to put the two together. This worked well except in order to put the nut on the end of the screw (inside the rocket body

Volunteering at the Lords Pantry
Throughout the fall and winter of 2024, I have been volunteering at Downingtown's Lord Pantry . Their goal is to provide meals for people in Downingtown who are unable to afford food. When I go to volunteer on Thursdays (5:30-7:30), my job is to bring the shopping carts out with food, and put the food in our customer's car. It truly feels great to help out all of these people who are in need of food and just need some extra help. It's also awesome to meet all of the different

Visiting Gateway to Mars!
Booster 9 During my family's Christmas trip down to Texas to see our cousins, my mom, dad, and I got the chance to take the long road trip down from San Antonio Texas, to Boca Chica (now Starbase, Texas ). This trip was one I had been wanted to take for a while because I had watched the high altitude test flights from the early days of the Starship program and at the time they were preparing for their second test flight. In fact we had to make sure the road was going to be op

Launching First Model Rocket
Constructing the rocket I got my first model rocket kit for Christmas in 2020! It was an Estes model rocket which used wings instead of fins to keep itself stabilized during flight. It used and Estes C6-10 engine as its solid rocket motor. After about a month and a half of on and off assembly of the rocket I finished in around mid February of 2021. We had to wait a couple days to launch because of the weather however when we got the chance to I remember making my parents dri

The Experience that Started it all
I visited Cape Canaveral with my family in March of 2020. We originally were going to stay in Tampa where we landing and then travel over to the cost the next day. However while on the plane my mom realized there was going to be a SpaceX Falcon 9 launch (CRS-20 Mission) the night we landed! She's awesome! Getting nachos at the hotel restaurant before the launch So we ended up making the decision to go straight from the airport to Cocoa Beach, FL (the closest public beach
