One of the things I've been working on in my free time is a 3D 1:100 scale model of SpaceX's Starship (almost 4 ft tall). I found the design on thingaverse and thought it would be cool to print my own.

Printing all of the pieces took a little over the month, as some of the parts took over a day to print. On top of that my 3D printer broke twice while in between prints, and a few of that prints failed due too a clogged extruder, and the part becoming detached from the build plate (I fixed it on my own).

The booster was the first thing to be completed, it is made up of five parts and then four grid find so nine parts total. The ship was the next object I completed, it is made up of three parts that make up the body, and then their are also four flaps, so seven parts total on the ship.

The next thing I did was I spray painted each part with a stainless steel colored spray paint so I could glue each part together. For the ship it was a bit more difficult to spray paint as there is a black heat shield on the back. This worked out however because I had originally used black filament to print the ship. To ensure I didn't get paint on the heat shield portion of the ship I covered the back with blue painters tape. This ended up working perfectly so I could the ship together now.
