Making a 3ft model rocket made from scratch

Since I still had the supplies for the original science fair model rocket I was going to build from scratch, I decided to go ahead and make it.
However I decided for fun that I would add on another body tube which gave the rocket its extra height. In order to secure both tubes together I used a coupler, then added 4 screws on both the top and bottom section to put the two together.
This worked well except in order to put the nut on the end of the screw (inside the rocket body) I had to add an access hatch on the side. This caused a bunch of other problems however it ended up working out well as I added an extra surface on the inside to close up the hatch once all the nuts were put on the screws.
In order to attach the motor (Estes E6-8) to the rockets I glued two rings to the outside of the motor and then glued the rings to the inside of the body tube. In order to create a better bond I added some electrical tape around the outside of each to increase the surface area. This ended up working very well, however in retrospect this makes this a single use model rocket because everything to glue in place, so in the future I will make a design that allows for the motors to be easily swapped.
